The Madagascar Lace Plant – Wabi Kusa is a product of Splashy Fin.
Commonly called ‘Madagascar Lace’, this plant originates from the island of Madagascar.
The species name is, ‘Aponogeton madagascariensis’.
It’s a popular plant among hobbyists and is highly sought after for its unique and beautiful lacey-structured leaves, which are hard to find.
This plant will easily become the centerpiece of your aquarium if given the right conditions and care.
It has a beautiful skeleton and lacey leaf structure.
They can grow up to 20 inches in height, and they do go through a ‘resting phase’.
During this time, you’ll see that the plant sheds most of its leaves and it stays that way for a while before new leaves emerge.
So during this phase, please do not think that the plant is dead and throw them away.
It takes a few weeks before you’ll see new leaves emerge after the ‘resting phase’ and new leaves often grow fuller than before.
Water circulation in the tank is important to keep this plant healthy.
The nutrient from the Wabi kusa will help the plant thrive.
Any dead tips on the leaves should be trimmed regularly and care should be taken to ensure that there is no algae formation on the plant.
