Why Keep Pelia Moss in an Aquarium?

Its fine, coral-like texture adds depth and visual interest.

Great for creating lush, green foregrounds or accenting driftwood and rocks.

Offers excellent hiding spots for baby fish and shrimp, improving their survival rate.

Shrimp love grazing on the biofilm that grows on its surface.

Like other aquatic plants, it helps absorb excess nutrients (nitrates, phosphates), which can reduce algae growth and improve water quality.

Grows slowly, meaning less frequent trimming.

Doesn’t require CO₂ injection (though it grows better with it).

Adapts to various light conditions.

Can be tied to wood, rocks, or mesh, or even left free-floating.

Works in both nano and large tanks.

Safe for all fish and invertebrates.

Can be used in both freshwater aquariums and paludariums.
