Limnobium laevigatum, commonly known as Amazon frogbit, is a popular floating plant in aquariums and ponds due to its attractive appearance and ease of care. Here’s a detailed overview of this plant: Amazon frogbit has round to oval-shaped leaves that float on the water’s surface. They are typically bright green and have a glossy texture. The leaves can grow up to 1-5 cm in diameter.

It has long, feathery roots that hang down into the water, providing excellent cover for fish and other aquatic creatures.

Amazon frogbit thrives under moderate to high lighting. It can adapt to lower light conditions but will grow more slowly.

The ideal temperature range for this plant is 64-84°F (18-29°C). It can tolerate a wide range of temperatures, making it suitable for most aquariums.

It prefers soft to moderately hard water. The pH should be kept between 6.0 and 7.5 for optimal growth.

While Amazon frogbit can absorb nutrients directly from the water, it benefits from occasional fertilization, especially in nutrient-poor environments.

This plant grows quickly under optimal conditions. Regular trimming may be necessary to prevent it from covering the entire water surface and blocking light from reaching other plants.

Propagation: Amazon frogbit propagates via runners, producing new plantlets that can be separated and relocated to different areas of the aquarium.

Tissue Culture

Tissue culture plants are young aquatic plants that are developed in-vitro in aquatic plant propagation laboratories. This unique cultivation ensures these plants are devoid of undesired snails, algae, and pesticides, making them completely safe for even the most delicate fish and shrimp species.

We offer a diverse range of tissue cultured aquarium plant varieties. Our cultures provide substantial planting portions, and when combined with high-quality fertilizers and CO₂ injection will grow into healthy aquatic plants.

Just lower the root portion of the tissue culture's clump that needs to be planted directly into the soil until it is buried halfway into the aquatic soil.
