Pogostemon helferi is an unusual but lovely aquarium foreground plant. The curled form and dark green tone of its leaves give it a distinct appearance. This plant was given the Thai name “Daonoi,” which means “tiny star.” Its natural habitat is the riverbeds between Thailand and Burma, it lives submerged and partially immersed too.
The look of these plants is similar to that of Dwarf Baby Tears. The plant’s leaf shape is wavy, and it has a rosette-shaped design. Pogostemon Helferi leaves spread outwards from the stem, forming a star-shaped pattern with their wavy leaves. With Dwarf Baby tears, they appear stunning.
It’s attractive, but it’s also one of your tank’s tiniest freshwater plants. That means a Pogostemon Helferi can live in a smaller tank. The wax coating on these leaves makes them appear thicker and more beautiful in the light.
CO₂ can be used to speed up growth, the plant will still grow without it, albeit at a slower rate.
Care Tips
- Pogostemon helferi prefers water temperatures ranging from 73.4 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
- To maintain your plant and fish healthy, remember to change the water from time to time.
Tissue culture plants are young aquatic plants that are developed in-vitro in aquatic plant propagation laboratories. This unique cultivation ensures these plants are devoid of undesired snails, algae, and pesticides, making them completely safe for even the most delicate fish and shrimp species. We offer a diverse range of tissue cultured aquarium plant varieties. Our cultures provide substantial planting portions, and when combined with high-quality fertilizers and CO₂ injection will grow into healthy aquatic plants. Just lower the root portion of the tissue culture's clump that needs to be planted directly into the soil until it is buried halfway into the aquatic soil.Plant Format
