It has dark brown leaves that are heavily marbled. It can grow in lesser lighting without CO\u2082 because it is a simple plant ( best results with stronger lighting and CO\u2082 injection). These plants can adapt to a variety of water conditions and grow in both soft and hard water. It thrives on nutrient-rich soil. When grown submerged, this popular <em>Crypt<\/em> will have long, crinkled green\/orange\/bronze leaves. The contrast between submerged and emersed grown plants may be seen in the photos.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Cryptocoryne&nbsp;<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">is easy to care for and is similar to other low-light aquatic plant species including&nbsp;<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Anubias<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">,&nbsp;<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Bucephalandra<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, and others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Crypts&nbsp;<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">reproduce by sending forth runners, which can be clipped and replanted in the substrate if desired. Plant separate stems about one inch apart for good coverage.
