Wacker 121 Professional Aquarium, Fish Tank Silicone

WACKER® 121 - AQUARIUM is a one-part, acid-curing silicone sealant designed specifically for constructing and repairing aquariums and fish tanks. It cures at room temperature upon exposure to atmospheric moisture, forming a permanently flexible and durable silicone rubber.

• Rapid Curing: Cures quickly, becoming tack-free and crack-resistant in a short time.

• User-Friendly Application: Non-sagging with excellent tooling characteristics, allowing for easy application at temperatures between +5°C and +40°C.

Application Guidelines:

• Surface Preparation: Ensure that all surfaces in contact with the sealant are clean, dry, and free from contaminants such as dust, dirt, oil, or rust. For non-porous substrates, clean with a suitable solvent and a lint-free cloth, removing any residual solvent before it evaporates.
• Application: Cut the cartridge thread open, attach the nozzle, and trim it to the desired bead size. Apply the sealant in beads or layers as needed. The curing process requires moisture and may take longer in conditions of lower temperature, humidity, or limited air exchange.

Restrictions:

• Not suitable for use on substrates like marble, concrete, fibrous cement, and mortar, as the product releases acetic acid during curing.
• Avoid contact with metals such as lead, copper, brass, or zinc to prevent corrosion.
• Not recommended for use with certain organic elastomers (e.g., EPDM, neoprene) or natural stones (e.g., marble, granite) due to potential staining or discoloration.
• Not suitable for insulating glass applications or use on pre-stressed polyacrylate elements, as it may cause environmental stress cracking.
