Helanthium tenellum 'Madeira' is a beautiful carpeting aquatic plant that is popular in freshwater planted aquariums. It’s a compact variant of Helanthium tenellum (formerly Echinodorus tenellus) and is known for its reddish-brown to green narrow leaves, depending on light and nutrients.
Foreground carpeting: Ideal for creating a lush green or reddish-brown carpet in the front of the tank.
Dutch or Nature-style aquascapes: Adds texture and contrast to wood, rocks, and other plant types.
Low-tech tanks: Can still thrive with moderate light and good substrate even without CO₂.
Propagation: It spreads by sending out runners that form new plants — let them grow or replant them manually.
