Dwarf hairgrass (Eleocharis parvula) is a farm-raised aquatic plant that originated in America. It's one of the most prevalent carpeting plants in aquariums, with a similar appearance to seaweed. They are simple to cultivate and require little upkeep. Dwarf hairgrass is naturally amphibious, thriving in both partially and submerged conditions. It can be used as both a spawning medium and a foreground plant.

Dwarf hairgrass plants are brilliant green aquatic plants with long grass-like pointed leaves, as their name suggests.

Water temperatures between 21 and 28 degrees Celsius are ideal for dwarf hairgrass.

Moderate lighting of 2 watts per gallon or more from full spectrum intensity, i.e., 5000 to 7000K, is ideal for growing dwarf hairgrass.

The Dwarf Hairgrass plant adds a polished professional touch to aquarium decoration. They give the aquarium a green grass-like carpet effect, making the move in the aquarium more vivid.

Have a longer shelf life and can live for a few months under ideal conditions, giving aquarists unrivaled flexibility.

The optimum environment for spawning fishes to lay their eggs is dwarf hairgrass.

Care Tips

  • The water temperature should be between 50° and 85°F.
  • When the top 3 inches of soil feel dry, pour water around the base of the dwarf grass clumps.

Plant Format

Tissue Culture

Tissue culture plants are young aquatic plants that are developed in-vitro in aquatic plant propagation laboratories. This unique cultivation ensures these plants are devoid of undesired snails, algae, and pesticides, making them completely safe for even the most delicate fish and shrimp species.

We offer a diverse range of tissue cultured aquarium plant varieties. Our cultures provide substantial planting portions, and when combined with high-quality fertilizers and CO₂ injection will grow into healthy aquatic plants.

Just lower the root portion of the tissue culture's clump that needs to be planted directly into the soil until it is buried halfway into the aquatic soil.
