Cryptocoryne spiralis var. udigera is a variety of the Cryptocoryne spiralis, a popular aquatic plant known for its long, slender leaves and ease of care in aquariums. This plant is often used as a background plant due to its taller growth and unique spiral leaf structure.
This variety features long, spiral-shaped leaves that can grow quite tall, making it a great choice for filling in the background of an aquascape. The leaves typically have a green to brownish hue.
Like other Cryptocorynes, it is relatively low-maintenance and does well in low to moderate lighting. It can tolerate a range of water conditions, making it suitable for beginners.
It grows relatively slowly, but over time it forms a dense, bushy clump.
A nutrient-rich substrate will help promote healthy growth. Cryptocorynes generally benefit from iron and other nutrients available in enriched substrates.
It thrives in soft to medium-hard water with a pH range of 6.0 to 7.5 and temperatures between 20–28°C (68–82°F).
