Tonina Fluviatilis is a lovely South American plant. It has bright green star-shaped leaves on the top. It grows in both soft and acidic water and looks beautiful when planted in groups.

Tonina Fluviatilis is a lovely aquarium stem plant that is ideal for adding ornamental charm to a planted tank. Tonina is a member of the Eriocaulon family and is renowned for being picky in aquariums.
This, like other Tonina species, is not a beginner’s plant. It requires a little acidic substrate and relatively soft water. The species requires a lot of light (1 watt or more per liter) as well as CO₂ injections. It’s critical to have enough iron and micronutrients, and nitrate and phosphate levels should never dip below zero.
Though the Tonina grows predominantly vertically, it will produce lateral shoots if given enough light. Because many plants outgrow their species, it’s critical to make sure the Tonina gets enough light. Cut offshoots and replant them in the substrate to reproduce the plant. The cut shoot tips should be no more than 2″ long, since this will ensure that the new stems develop in an aesthetically pleasing manner, with no roots growing from the sides.
The fresh appearance of this plant’s leaves makes it an excellent choice for adding a green accent to an aquarium’s middle or background. It’s a wonderful choice for tanks in the Dutch style.
