Taxiphyllum SP Flame Moss is an excellent freshwater plant and can be used in a variety of aquariums. This moss belongs to the Taxiphyllum genus and the Hypnaceae family. It looks a lot like Java Moss and is often mistaken for it. Flame moss, on the other hand, grows at a slower rate than Java moss.
The name Asian Flame Moss comes from the way it grows. The appearance of a deep green campfire, 5-15cm high, is created by tight, vertical growth and gentle undulating shoots. Flame moss has a unique shape that makes it ideal for horizontal surfaces, and it only spreads slowly horizontally. Binding the moss to little stones or small bundles on tree roots produces a wonderful outcome.
Taxiphyllum sp. ‘Flame’ has bushes that can grow horizontally in all directions and cover a surface. Most of the time, though, it will deviate from normal growth patterns and grow vertically upwards in a spiraling pattern. The Flame moss plant’s shoots can reach a length of 4 to 6 inches. Nonetheless, when reared immersed in a tank, they rarely grow longer than 3 inches. Flame moss features whirling shoots that entangle and provide the appearance of a burning flame, as previously indicated. The flames will be dense and dark green in appearance.
Care Tips
- Liquid fertilizer can be used now and again to encourage new growth and keep the moss in good shape.
- It is critical to keep the water clean and avoid too much light to prevent algae from growing in the Flame moss.
Tissue culture plants are young aquatic plants that are developed in-vitro in aquatic plant propagation laboratories. This unique cultivation ensures these plants are devoid of undesired snails, algae, and pesticides, making them completely safe for even the most delicate fish and shrimp species. We offer a diverse range of tissue cultured aquarium plant varieties. Our cultures provide substantial planting portions, and when combined with high-quality fertilizers and CO₂ injection will grow into healthy aquatic plants. Just lower the root portion of the tissue culture's clump that needs to be planted directly into the soil until it is buried halfway into the aquatic soil.Plant Format
