How is the product tested?
We mix our Marine Salt in 1 metric tonne (2204lb) batches, with three separate samples per batch obtained for testing during the manufacturing process. These samples are each dissolved in 15 liters (4 US gal) of RO water. ICP-OES analysis is performed by our trained team of professionals to ensure that the chemical composition is within a constant range while also ruling out the existence of undesired impurities. Note that, despite the fact that our salt is well blended, no two buckets/boxes will be similar.
The specifications can differ somewhat between containers, and a fluctuation of roughly 2-3 percent is allowed. This variation is caused by both the physical qualities of the mix and the constraints of the available processing procedures. These differences are still less than the normal margin of error for common hobbyist test kits.
How to use?
Dissolve the salt in demineralized water that has been previously prepared. The temperature of the water should be around 24°C (75°F). Dissolve 345 g (12.16 oz)/10 l (2.7 US gal) of water for a salinity of 30 ppt. For around 15 minutes, vigorously stir the solution. The saline water is ready to use once the salt has completely dissolved and the solution is transparent. Keep the salt somewhere dry and dark. Use the salt within 5 days of it being dissolved. Keep out of children’s reach. Only for use in aquariums. This product is not fit for human consumption. On request, a safety data sheet is provided.
Important note:
It’s worth noting that Aquaforest goods are made in the European Union under tight laboratory monitoring to ensure the finest quality. Each product is made from carefully chosen raw materials in quantities that have been shown to produce consistent compositions.
