Alternanthera reineckii “Mini” is a dwarf form of the well-known Alternanthera reineckii. It is commonly called Red Mint “Mini”. Its vibrant red color, makes it a perfect pick in Dutch aquascapes. Its tiny size allows it to be used as a foreground, midground, or background plant in both big and small aquariums.
Like other stem plants, it grows best in medium to high light and infusion of CO₂. It grows up to 8 inches tall and can be grown emersed or submerged.
Alternanthera reineckii “Mini” is not a demanding plant, it requires a sustained period of stability to do well. This plant is vulnerable to algae, so it is very important to have a clean tank.
Alternanthera reineckii “Mini” propagates like any other stem plant: simply cut the stem and replant.
Care Tips
- Giving the plant the necessary carbon dioxide and iron will maintain its perfect coloration and satisfactory growth patterns.
- Pruning regularly will result in additional young stems that can multiply.
Tissue culture plants are young aquatic plants that are developed in-vitro in aquatic plant propagation laboratories. This unique cultivation ensures these plants are devoid of undesired snails, algae, and pesticides, making them completely safe for even the most delicate fish and shrimp species. We offer a diverse range of tissue cultured aquarium plant varieties. Our cultures provide substantial planting portions, and when combined with high-quality fertilizers and CO₂ injection will grow into healthy aquatic plants. Just lower the root portion of the tissue culture's clump that needs to be planted directly into the soil until it is buried halfway into the aquatic soil.Plant Format
